The French Riveria

French Rivera GirlAlong the Mediterranean at the south eastern corner of France sits a coastline of unparalleled beauty. The sun shines 300 days of the year here so golfing, swimming and sunning are a must. This corner of the world features a tropical climate, fresh breezes filled with jasmine and beautiful scenery. Where is this place? It is the Cote d’Azur or The French Riviera, and it’s a state of mind and a destination all in one!

Centuries ago, it was a winter resort town for the British and European elite. Royalty, authors, musician and others among the rich and famous have enjoyed this beautiful coast for hundreds of years. Today, most people know this playground of the rich for its yachting center, its beaches and its golf courses. The sunsets are magical, the waters are of the deepest blue and dotted along the coast are beautiful white villas.

There are dozens of glamorous cities and towns along the French Riviera. Among them are Nice, its largest and most colorful city; Cannes, the trendy, touristy place well-known for the famous annual film festival; St. Tropez, where the rich and beautiful play; Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat, a quiet holiday spot along the peninsula; and Eze, the coasts island in the sky with unspeakable views. You can gamble in Nice and other places but if you feel like slipping into Monte Carlo, you are close enough to enjoy Monaco and all the gambling houses there.

French Riveria TownFor the tourist in you, art museums and galleries, opera houses, botanical gardens, and theatres abound. A visit to France is not a real visit without a trip to a winery of which there are many and you can luxuriate in spa service after a long day of site seeing. Day and half-day trips along the coast road into Cannes, Antibes and Juan-les-Pins. The shopping is without compare and if learning to cook the French way is on your “bucket” list, there’s no time than the time in France to learn.

Your visit to the French Riviera will take some planning. You have some decisions to make and some education to undergo. There is so much to see so breaking down by priority is a must.
